Guatemala, like many countries throughout the world, suffers from underdevelopment in rural areas.
Local villages in the countryside often have few services, low income and few sources of employment. This leads to a low quality of life for villagers and little possibility for future development. Child malnutrition and illiteracy continue to be problems. This happens while its land is so fertile that if you drop any seed, most probably it will sprout and bear fruit...nevertheless, its people only rely on corn and beans (as a luxury) for their base food. Many NGO's and corporations come to Guatemala to aid in malnutrition and illiteracy, but seldom make lasting impact. Locals remain impoverished and few benefit from this aid. From our experiences with locals in the countryside—sharing our lives with them, cultivating the soil together—we've seen that changes come gradually by leading through example with patience and a pure heart. This guidance must be based on worldwide knowledge, scientifically proven and shared with care and the desire to provoke real development in these areas. If we manage this well, we will create a Model for Sustainable Rural Development that can be applied in any climate worldwide, regardless of culture, language or skin color. Please read thoroughly the information in our website and if you wish to contact us, we would love to hear from you.
